Indomitable. Untamed. Unruly. A spirit of this nature marches to the beat of their own drum, setting trends, leaving aside all strings and structures, running their own schedule, and enjoying every moment while remaining true to their style. A spirit of this nature lives by their own rules and follows their own particular track, free from constrictions and preconceptions. The new wine range by Bodega Kaiken is intended for those consumers who like to bend the rules without breaking them.

"Wine is a tribute to freedom. It inspires us to celebrate. It prevails over gatherings around meals, enriching table talk with wit, exalting our thoughts and words to the world of dreams." Francis Mallmann

Argentina takes great pride in its Malbec, which is why everyone here at KAIKEN decided to take on a new challenge and embark on a new adventure. The massive Andes mountain range -the extraordinary backdrop to Kaiken Wines- inspired us to go on a quest for the true Malbec from Mendoza's Andes. In the course of our exploration, we discovered three outstanding microterroirs: two of them located in Los Chacayes, on the northern and southern slope of Arroyo Grande, a stream running through our estate; and a third microterroir in Valle de Canota.

In the language of the Pehuenche, one of the native peoples of Mendoza, mai means "first". It's the name we chose for our first icon wine, which the result of a constant search for excellence. We use the word in honour of the Pehuenche. Mai is of our Vistalba terroir's perfect expression of Malbec, for which we've selected grapes from our 125 year old vineyeard to make a unique and elegant wine, with great character. After ageing for 18 months in new French oak barrels and 12 months in bottle, the wine is silky and sensual, with nose with lifted spice and ripe fruit.

Kaiken Obertura was inspired by the passion and sensuality of Argentina. It's the same passion that led us to explore and innovate, that motivated us to be bold and to create this pure Cabernet Franc from brush-trained vines. It stands out as a lively, vibrant wine with lots of character.

Our sparkling wine is made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, using the traditional method. Aged for two years in bottle before being release, the wine has true finesse, with an extraordinary balance between richness and delicacy. It's really exceptional.
