Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs

In 2002 a group of friends decided to invest in Argentina. Each a wine lover. Each excited about the opportunity for Argentinian wines on the world stage. They purchased the land that was to become Finca Ambrosia and set out to make their collective ambition a reality. At that time, the Gualtallary district in the Tupungato department, in the heart of the Uco Valley, was beginning to capture the interest of wine producers mostly due to its soil and climate characteristics. Over the years 3 additional parcels of land were purchased resulting in the current vineyard. Gualtallary is now considered the finest terroir for production of premium wines in the Mendoza Province.

Over the years fruit has been sold to a handful of high-end wineries such as and Trapiche, Altos Los Hormigas and Viña Cobos. As a trial, the owners engaged a leading local wine maker to process the 2010 fruit, paying him with bottles of the resulting wine. One such bottle came to the attention of Robert Parker in 2012 who awarded it 95 points – an outstanding score for a first vintage! Around the same time Trapiche launched its renowned Single Vineyard Terroir Series which has featured Finca Ambrosia ever since, regularly scoring 95 and 96 points.

Having seen the success of these wines, Finca Ambrosia launched its own label for the 2011 harvest, starting with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon and then expanding to Chardonnay. More recently offers have been expanded to include Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, a Blanc de Blancs sparkling and a Bordeaux style Grand Cru blend. The wines are marketed across 3 ranges Precioso, Viña Unica and the house range Casa Ambrosia both in Argentina and internationally. Key export markets are the United States, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Brazil and a number of other countries across Europe and South America.

In 2018 wine making was consolidated at the Los Maitenes winery in Lujan de Cuyo under the continued guidance of the leading local winemaker ensuring more control over the product producing even higher quality wine. In March 2020 Finca Ambrosia's jigsaw was completed, taking over full control and management of the Bodega Los Maitenes.

Finca Ambrosia Precioso is a limited and numbered production which is our signature wine. Precioso is produced using only the finest Malbec grapes hand selected from specific plots on our estate located in Gualtallary. The soil contains pure limestone over quaternary gravels, delivering the mineral character of the wine and granting structure to the tannins. It is aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months.

This cabernet franc was produced with grapes from the special Gualtallary area in Tupungato, the heart of the Uco Valley. Its soil has high calcium carbonate content that enhances the mineral character and gives structure to the tannins.

White

100% Chardonnay created with grapes of our exceptional vineyard located in Gualtallary district, Tupungato department, in the heart of the Uco Valley; where the soil contains pure limestone over quaternary gravels. This is an elegant Chardonnay, with mineral character, creating an essence of freshness in the mouth alongside soft and balanced oak flavours. These characteristics result in a cellar potential of at least 10 years.

Limited edition of 2,500 bottles of Merlot from Lot 1 which is aged for 12 months in French oak and a minimum of 12 months in the bottle before release. An intense ruby colour with complex aromas of blackberry, plums and mint.

It is well known by scientists and ancient growers the influence the moon has in life, in all the events in which gravity and liquids are involved. Grape growing practices and winemaking are also induced by it, especially when it is full. The grapes for our Luna Llena Gran Malbec were harvested during a full moon night to make the most of this influence.

Viña Única Malbec is produced using high quality grapes from our estate in the Gualtallary district of Tupungato department in the Uco Valley. The mineral character, is typical of Ambrosia wines and its soil composition of pure limestone over quaternary gravels. 5% Cabernet Franc is included increasing concentration and complexity with spicy notes

Finca Ambrosia Precioso Cabernet is a limited production. This is our top Cabernet Sauvignon. It is made with the best grapes from our extraordinary vineyard located in high altitude Gualtallary, Tupungato in the heart of the Uco Valley. Its soil has high calcium carbonate content that enhances the mineral character and gives structure to the tannins.

Red Blend

This limited Blend was produced after a rigorous selection of our best grapes from our outstanding vineyard located in Gualtallary area in Tupungato, the heart of the Uco Valley. Its soil has high calcium carbonate content that enhances the mineral character and gives structure to the tannins. 

Cabernet Franc Blend

Viña Única Cabernet Sauvignon is produced using high quality grapes from our estate. The structure of the wine, specifically the mineral character, is typical of Ambrosia wines and of the soil composition where we grow our grapes. It includes 5% of Cabernet Franc that heightens concentration, granting complexity and adding spicy notes.

The Vino de la Casa is a wine crafted using quality grapes coming from the vineyard that surrounds Ambrosia’s House. High altitude, dry weather, pure water straight from the Andes and limestone and rocky soil, makes Finca ambrosia a special place to make special wines.

A limited edition of 2,300 bottles in a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Franc, matured in French oak with a minimum of 9 months in the bottle. An intense red violet colour with fruity and spicy aromas, vigorous and silky tannins ending in a long elegant mouth.

Sparkling

Soft and bright golden amber color, with greenish gleams. Slim and permanent bubbles appear in the glass while aromatic notes of elegant complexity, in which green apple, white peach and toasted bread (granted by yeasts) highlight, come off. Stable and harmonious, with a good balance between sugar and acidity.
