Nose

Loads of spice, black and red cherry aromas with
notes of chocolate.

Palate

The berry flavors really pop
on the palate as the wine has both a full mid
palate and lively acidity that leads to an
incredibly long finish. A bottom note of freshly
brewed espresso keeps the mouth watering too.
A very flexible Malbec due to its concentration
and balance.

Growing Conditions

The Luca team works with
some of the best family
vineyards in the Uco Valley to
make this rich and dense
example of Malbec.
High altitude vineyards above 3000 ft. Cool nights and a wide thermal amplitude. In fact, temperature decreases approximately 1°C for every 100m increase in height. Plant respiration at night is a key physiological process that is highly influenced by temperature. Cool temperatures in high altitude regions allow for lower respiration rates, which enhances the concentration of malic acid in the berries. Therefore, wines sourced from high altitude regions offer higher acid levels. Cooler temperatures also allow berries to maintain other quality such as anthocyanins and aromatics compounds typical of each variety.
Soil profile: sandy loamy soil, limestone, roud alluvial stones covered with limestone.

Appearance

Incredible deep purple red color.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with foods such
as venison or wild game, steak, pork, quail, all
types of lamb, and medium-strong cheeses.
