A brief history

Nestled beneath the foothills of the Andes, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Uco Valley, is CaliVista.

For the founder of CaliVista, Dave Kalainoff, the adventure of CaliVista was to return to his roots in agriculture. Born and raised on a small farm in Iowa coupled with his love of wine, Dave always dreamed of a return to the business of producing products in a beautiful natural way. He found that, and more in the Valle de Uco region of Mendoza.

As Dave has told many friends: “This is one of the few places on earth where you can grow spectacular grapes in a vineyard with absolutely amazing views. Spectacular vistas coupled with dry climate, beautiful sunny days and cool nights – it is truly my favorite place to be.” Clean air and fresh breeze flows down from the high altitudes of the nearby Andes makes the land a wonderful environment to produce organic wine.

With our latest harvest, March 2021, we have now converted to official Organic status. All vintage from 2021 onward will be Organic.

Moreover, it is a fresh wine thanks to its balanced acidity. It is a versatile wine to enjoy it as an aperitif or to pair great dishes.
