A brief history
"Wines with a sense of Place and Adventure" by Tomas Achaval
I have spent the past 25 years exploring the vast wine regions in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. I discovered where each selected grape varietal can reach its full and optimal expression, capturing the character of the region.
This adventure has taken me from the valleys of Mendoza to some of the world’s highest vineyards in Salta, as well as ‘the end of the world’ – the incredible Patagonia.
These terroirs are my inspiration! The Andes produce wines with tremendous personality due to its conditions: extreme altitudes, dramatic temperature fluctuations, and intense solar radiation.
In these areas, grapes like Malbec and Torrontes flourish unlike anywhere else in the world. The tannins become sweeter, softer, and rounder. The minerality and fruit expressions explode.
