Achaval Ferrer

Bella Vista vineyard was planted in 1910 at the Mendoza River south bank in the region of Perdriel (Lujan de Cuyo). Achaval Ferrer Finca Bella Vista is distinguished by its smoothing features and finely meshed texture. It is elegant and aromatic with an endless finish and a juicy acidity that stands out. It is the most elegant expression of Malbec that you will find anywhere.

Quimera is architecture and design; it is a unique warm-blend that was conceived at the vineyard. Altamira vineyard was planted in 1950 at the foothill of the Andes just below the Tunuyán River, Altamira is mountain with extreme weather. The growing conditions are so challenging and the soil profile so unique, that the typicity or this Malbec goes beyond its normal descriptors. Orange peel and balsamic flavors combine harmoniously the violets and red fruit notes typical from Malbec. Mineral notes and sharp acidity give this wine a character of its own.

Mirador vineyard was planted in 1921 over an ancient dry riverbed in Medrano. Mirador is sun, sand and furious heat; and although water is no longer flowing through this dry river, a cool breeze comes down every night and helps to maintain the natural acidity of this full ripen Malbec. Always monolitical and austere, with a core of black fruit and spices, this wine will open in multilayers as years pass by.

The book definition of what a Merlot should be in a good vintage. Deep purple color. This wine is fresh and complex, with tomato leaves, plums and spicy notes in nose and palate. The wine is textured, round and silky with elegant tannins and a long complex finish. Low yields, careful vineyard management and low intervention winemaking are the hallmarks of this and all other Achaval Ferrer wines.

True to its varietal, Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon is a sharply focused expression of black and red fruits and subtle mineral notes. This Old World inspired, limited production wine, offers refined yet firm tannins and a bright acidity that gives it a lush texture through a long finish.

In Tupungato heights, Cabernet Franc has found a home of its own in Argentina. Great sun exposure combined with a cool mountain breeze, allows this grape variety to ripen famously providing a full pallet of aromas and flavors: from black fruit to tomatoes leaf and rosemary. Some people have described this Cabernet Franc as aromatic and expressive as a Chinon (Loire Valley) with the tannin structure and grip of a St. Emilion (Bordeaux).
