In our San Vicente vineyard we have 2 hectares (4,9 acres) of Cabernet Franc growing in a deep sandy-loam soil. The 1,9 meters high trellis conduction system allows us to obtain low yields where the fruit and typicity stand out.

The “códices” are the books prior to the printing press, those that were handmade combining every detail and stopping at every step of its production. That’s how much we have dedicated to this wine where we’ve made an exhaustive selection of what we consider it is the best we have to offer.
This blend comes from our San Vicente vineyard where we have 7,5 hectares (18 acres) of Malbec and 2 hectares (4,9 acres) of Cabernet Franc. The grapevines grow in a deep sandy-loam soil and are guided in a 1,9 meters high trellis system. These characteristics allow us to obtain low yields where fruit and tipicty stand out.
A few years ago my father Jorge Catena took us to meet the place where his grandparents were born. Touring the area he remembered that his “Nonno” used to tell him stories about Camporotondo di Fiastrone, Le Marque, Italy (birthplace of our family's winemaking tradition). That's why he wanted to name one wine in honor of his childhood memories. Camporotondo alludes to that magic moment where you arrive when you like a blend, that circle originated at the vineyard and closed at the bottle.
