A brief history

Our story began in 2007 when we planted the first vineyards. We are men and women who traveled thousands of kilometers listening, observing, learning from those who know the most and capitalizing on all kinds of experiences. We brought them to Cafayate, and we mixed them with our mountains, our vineyards, our culture and our experiences.

Meet The Team

  • José Luis Mounier

José Luis Mounier was born in Mendoza province, into a family dedicated to viticulture. Many years ago, the search for a personal project led him to Cafayate where he chose to settle with his family.

He was professionally trained by the great exponents of Cafayate wines in the world, such as Michel Rolland, with whom he learned to “make wines from the vineyard”. He lived one of his most important wine experiences in Bordeaux, France, where he worked in the winemaking process for Château Le Bon Pasteur in Pomerol. In 2005, he founded Finca Las Nubes, a boutique winery that produced the first signature wines in Salta. Since 2007, he has been with us at Viñas en Flor as Winemaker.

José Luis is a great connoisseur and admirer of the our terroir.

Viñas en Flor Bodega1700

This wine is born at high altitudes (1700 meters above sea level) in a special region called Cafayate. In this dessert valley, altitude prints our grapes a unique identity, offering warm days and cool nights, very little rainfall and plentiful sunlight. Resulting in balanced, elegant, structured and mature wines, with intense colors and fresh, clean aromas. Altitude is a very special attribute to our wines, for that reason this collection get the name "1700". Intense red color, with violet edges. On the nose, there are red fruits, notes of pepper, plum and spices, subtle vanilla and smoked, which gives it contact with oak. In the mouth, it is a wine of great structure and good volume, with very soft and ripe tannins. Maturation: 12 months in oak (50% French and 50% American).
