Huarpe Wines

A brief history

The 100-year tradition of one of the most important wine families in Argentina meets modern winemaking technology at Bodegas y Viñedos Huarpe. The origins of this winery predate its establishment, and it is the continuation of the work of many generations in one of the world’s ideal wine-producing regions, Mendoza. The Agrelo district of Luján de Cuyo, located at the foot of the Andes in Mendoza’s “Primary Region”, is uniquely suited for the production of high-quality wines. Excellent soils, cool nights, long dry days, and plenty of sun join to create ideal conditions for growing vines. Vinification is conducted paying careful attention to every detail that goes into making a superior quality wine. In sum, our wines are made with the dedication one gives to a work of art. Today, Huarpe is exporting to nine countries and is completely family run: worldwide-trained oenologist José Hernández Toso makes the wine, while his brother Maximiliano Hernández Toso handles the managerial aspects of the winery.
