A brief history
Doña Paula´s history goes back to 1997, when the first vineyard was acquired. It is located in Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo (Mendoza), which is the cradle of Malbec par excellence. After that, in accordance with Doña Paula`s innovative spirit, three vineyards were acquired in different areas of the Uco Valley: Gualtallary, Altamira and Los Cerezos.
We are absolutely sure that an excellent wine is nothing but the most faithful expression of the vineyard. We also believe that, to establish our own style, it is essential to take care of each process during the plants phenological phases. Thus, 100% of the grapes used to produce our wines come from our own vineyards. For many years, we have carried out detailed studies of Mendoza’s soils and microclimates and, consequently, we nowadays own 703 hectares (around 1,737 acres) of vineyards located in the most prominent terroirs of Mendoza.
Doña Paula`s philosophy shows that we are passionate artists and details lovers when it comes to taking care of our vineyards, and we have absolute respect for varietal and territorial traits. We believe that the Argentinean Malbec has unique personality and that these soils have a great potential for producing other super premium varieties.
