Growing Conditions

Vineyards selected for Carrascal Malbec are situated in Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu, within the subregions of Drummond, Lunlunta, Agrelo, Perdriel, Ugarteche and Russel. 2019 was characterized by a very dry cycle with precipitations reaching 50% less than the historic average, leading to smaller berries and lower yields due to hydric stress. Within the traditional regions of Lujan de Cuyo, cooler temperatures led to fresh acidity levels, while small berries help concentrate dark fruit and tobacco notes, while the dry weather allowed for excellent sanitary conditions.

Harvest

All grapes were harvested manually and selected at the vineyard, transported in small 20kg cases to the winery and immediately crushed.
